Summary
Fire Eats Its Children
Fiction. Small southwest Missouri town faces family and political rivalry in the late 1990s. A covert methamphetamine operation sneaks inside the city government and local business interests as backdrop to teens experiencing school and romance. An old family rivalry uncovers the death of a girl in a previous generation that threatens the teens of the story. Trafficking of meth expands, leading to murder and exposes the parties involved. The collision of these forces leads to an attempted murder and battle between the meth traffickers and police that erupts into a fire that burns in entire downtown of Lancer. The story follows the characters trapped in conflicted loyalties, desperate situations and the town's struggle to recover after the fire.
